Southwest
Scholarship Committee
The Southwest Neighborhood Scholarship Committee conducts fundraising campaigns
annually to support college grants for Southwest youth. Since 1974, this significant
community effort has provided aid to more than 200 students.
The community supported scholarship program was started
in1974 by River Park Cooperative which raised funds
to provide educational scholarship awards to three
students in the neighborhood who needed financial assistance.
Over the years, we have really grown!
The
mission of the SW College Scholarship Committee is to
help Southwest students realize their educational goals
by providing college grants, encouragement and
support.
Students who live in SW (20024), who are high
school seniors, or returning college students or are
full time students pursuing an undergraduate degree
from an accredited college or university, are encouraged
to apply. Applications may be picked up at the S.W.
Branch Library at the end of March 2004. They
are awarded during the summer.
Tax deductible contributions may be made to SW Scholarship
