The Assembly regulary hosts a community meeting to address issues concerning our constituents. meetings are held on the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 pm, with the exception of July, August, and December. In an effort to reach all segments of the community, we generally host our meetings at eithr the St. Augustine's Church (600 M Street, SW) or the First District Police Sation (101 m Street, SW).

We always try to keep things fresh and interesting, and we have been fortunate to welcome some very prominent residents of the District. In 2009, the Assembly heard from Mayor Fenty and City Council Chairman Vincent Gray. We have also welcomed Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, Dr. Dorothy Height, former Asst. Attorney General Roger Wilkins, former advisor to President Johnson Johnson Ofield Dukes, and so many more. And of course, we always welcome our local celebrities -- the ANC Commissioners.

This coming year we look forward to moving into our new office at Waterfront Station and we may even locate our monthly meetings in the new facility! We are also hoping to hear from Mayor Fenty again this year, and we plan to host several forums ranging from 2010 Election Candidates to Housing and Neighborhood Retail.

Each month the Program Committee attempts to put together meetings that will inspire and interest the community; please let us know if there is a topic that you would like discussed at a community meeting.
